Future Mini-dialogues

There are several ways to talk about the  future in English. It´s important to know them because we can express very specific ideas. Check out the following dialogue where we use WILL in different ways.

Marta - Hey guys! 1 Do you think we'll pass this course with  such a crazy teacher?
Rafa   - 2 I promise I´ll kill Manny, if I fail. However, it won´t be easy because he´s a fast
               runner.
Maria - 3 If you kill Manny, you´ll have to kill me as well. He's all right.
Marina - Don´t worry Rafa. 4 I'll  help you kill him, I hate  him too.
Julián I know what we can do to pass the course! 5 I´ll ask my brother, who happens to be
very good at English, to give us a hand.
Álvaro - You know that studying hard is not one of my favourite things in the world. But,
6  promise I´ll  try my best.

We have used WILL to express the following future ideas:
1 a simple future prediction
2 and 3 a first conditional sentence
4 an offer
5 a spontaneous decision
6 a promise

Our next post will be about the way we BE GOING TO and PRESENT CONTINUOUS to talk about the future. Goodbye for now.

Term 2... here we come!!!

There is never time to waste in Laude Fontenebro Senior School, so there will be no formal introductions of each member of the Magnificent Seven. I'd just like to say that I hope you learn something if you have been given access to read this blog. Yes, learning English is our goal, and this simple blog is designed to make revising a little more interesting. So, without further ado, let's talk about Unit 4 and the Future. Well, not right now... you'll have to wait until the next entry.
